January 2011 Fishing Report

Recent rains will just add to the awesome catching of speckled trout and redfish. Water temp is around 50 degrees and visibility is good to about two feet.

Area’s like the Texas City dike at Mosquito Is or Half Moon, Moser Lake at the deep hole, Sylan Beach and Scott and Burnett Bays. All these area’s have deep water access for those fish to feed during the winter.
Keep in mine, the bite is slow and your retreive should be as well. Work the bait on or near the bottom.

Make use of Mirrolure series 38,51 in chartruse, chrome or orange. Also, Corky or the Devil in pearl, plum or black.
Soft plastics work like the Saltwater Assassin or Norton Jr. in pumpkin seed, morning glory or chicken/chain……………

Next four days are going to be an idea time to create that memory for you……………….

March 2nd to the 6th is the The Holder Fishing Show @ George R. Brown bldg A………………Stop by booth 232 and visit and bring those recent pictures of catching or hunting………….
